The Sparrow and His Four Children

Listen to the Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Kids so you can hear examples of the best and first things for children to listen to.

Sparrows are found everywhere you would and should find children: in parks; in gardens; on home properties and in the community. Sparrows symbolise many things that are synonymous to young children: productive and creative imagination; blooming energy and vitality; heart open to giving and receiving love; aligning posture and poise with dignity and self-respect. Fairy Tales have been proven to contain important teachings of initiation and morality. So the fairy tales containing sparrows must be at the top of the list regarding matters of concern for the life of the young child. The number four is associated with setting up a firm foundation in life. The fourth sparrow thrived through faith in a higher power, symbolised by the church he lived in. The message in this story teaches us that young children must have faith to create a foundation for a successful life. This is where the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, fantasy and fairy tales play a part in bolstering the faith of children.
