Young children know authoritarian behaviour is not good behaviour. This comes to light in free and imaginary dramatic play. Adults can discover natural rights by joining in with child's play!
I agree with your point about being caught in a hamster wheel trap, focused on providing for our family, yet not having the time to raise our children properly. We know though the slew of “causal factors” why we feel that way. I think it is more of a “feeling” rather than the Truth. We’re made to feel like we don’t have the the time, but in reality we’re choosing to spend our time and money on superficial things that don’t have any real significance. The bond you speak of doesn’t cost any money and it is the solution. While listening to your segment, I was thinking about any child in my life and could easily identify the pattern between strong bond with an adult and a healthier child than those without. This is very good to discuss further. I honestly have never given that much thought. I find it incredible, the real solutions for humanity problems don’t cost money.
Hi Ineka, great to hear from you. Yeah, you’re absolutely on point… and yeah it’s really a dark and depressing topic. At least, it has put me there this week! I hope it hasn’t done the same to you! The last thing I would want is the criticism directed at you! I made and broke so many bonds when I would teach and then quit my job… to move to another centre then do it all again. For the world, I really think the good news is that it wouldn’t take too much extra time or effort, it’s just a little out of reach for most people. It’s weird, I feel really sorry for myself and everyone when I consider this. I wonder if reading fairy tales are a way out of this mess? The common thread inside the tale that helps strengthen the bond between parent and child. Maybe creating a space that prevents so much abandonment? It’s a tricky topic, I feel myself walking on eggshells during the show haha… I honestly appreciate your support… I’ll try to stay with this topic.
Hey Gino!! Thanks for the response. Nope, I don’t take this as criticism toward me at all!! Haha. In fact, quite the opposite. It is inspiring me to somehow use this knowledge to help others. I do think reading fairy tales (with knowledge of NL) and creating that bond, could be a way out of this mess. For me, I feel there are so many things we can do, my challenge is where to put my energy and resources that will make the most impact. With working fulltime and family life, it is easy to fall behind on projects such as what we’re speaking of. In the flip side, it’s too important to “ignore”!! I know too much, in that once you understand, it is our duty to teach others. Come one Gino!! Let’s keep it going!! 😀😀😀
Hey Gino! Good info in the segment… As a high school inner city, public school teacher in NY, a lot of what you discuss here is rampant in my everyday. I have a few comments, but I want to first mention that, although you may not be a parent, you were a child! I know you can relate to the child and your experience as an educator also contributes! being a parent is extremely hard, but your care and effort is valuable!
I know you’re super-busy…. If you find time, could you please write me a page or so that you would like to share? I can read it in the show in a few weeks or so. No rush, I will re-visit this, I am not certain when. I’ll message you when I do.
Ineka, thank you for your message! Yes, this was my most passionate show yet. It has the themes in it that inspired me to start my show. I imagine you have a lot to share! I'm flattered to have you listening and contributing here. If you like.. please comment here or something longer in email and I would LOVE to read it on my show! I will re-visit this episode's topic soon and regularly.
If you had thoughts to share on: your experience as a teacher; your observations; on rebellious kids; on the lack of parental bonding. Regarding the topics covered in this show. If you feel like venting! I will take another look at the “bonding” aspect
Hi Gino! Yes, we should get into this one. I have a long history of both personal and professional experiences on this topic. Thank you for putting this together. I’m happy to connect via email, post comments or video chat. Let’s get into this one. Let me know. In the meantime, I’ll make some comments. Happy Friday!! Have a lovely weekend!!

Hi, what would you like me to focus on specifically? From what perspective?
If you had thoughts to share on: your experience as a teacher; your observations; on rebellious kids; on the lack of parental bonding. Regarding the topics covered in this show. If you feel like venting! I will take another look at the “bonding” aspect
Okay! I’d gladly write on that topic. Sure. Thank you for the opportunity. Will work on it and let you know. Thanks again!
That’s awesome! Thank you Ineka and I’m looking forward to it!
